What Our Site Is Not

Due to a few recent developments, I thought it necessary to clarify a few things to our readers.

This is a site for you to share stories of your past. Or share stories inspired by your past. We are here for you to connect with others who can understand how you feel.

We are not:

The police.   The people sharing on here are sharing as part of a healing process, not to press charges.

Fact checkers.   Most people sharing here use writing to heal from past wounds. It is not up to us to make sure everything shared is also true.  Part of the healing process for survivors is working out the details of what really happened, and writing is part of that process.

Obligated to allow negative comments.   If the idea of survivors sharing emotions and stories you disagree with doesn’t sit well with you, then this site isn’t for you.  The people here are healing from controlling, manipulative people who continually stripped away their self-worth.  If you feel the need to do the same by ridiculing the stories here, we retain the right to block you.

Your right to free speech does not mean we have to allow insults.  This is a community for survivors to connect with each other.  Feel free to debate whether that’s a valid need somewhere else.

  1. Thank you. I tried to write that with as much emotional restraint as possible. My unprofessional side wanted to use more colorful language

  2. I applaud the development of this site, and what it is you are doing. I would not have thought to look something like this up before you found me. Thank you for that. It has been a small comfort to read some of the stories posted by others.

    1. Thank you! That means a lot. I never thought a site like this would elicit hate from others, but today it did. I’m glad there’s people out there who are receiving encouragement from it!

      1. I’ve learned that most people are out for attention, and unfortunately they do not concern themselves with whether the attention they receive is good or bad. They simply want it; even if that means hurting those that have been hurt, or pretending to be hurt themselves. There is also a strong possibility that there are some who simply aren’t ready to share their own story, and are wounded by that and lashing out at those that are ready.
Whatever their reasons; You are doing a wonderful thing here. All you can do is continue to reach out the way that you have, and know that in the end you may be offering a piece of solace to someone that might not have found it otherwise. Good Luck.

      2. Thank you. That’s exactly what I needed to hear tonight. On the plus side, we’ve reached 2,000+ people as of tonight! My hope is that at least some found comfort

The freelancer, don’t bother about the foolish who haven’t seen a thing in their life to grow up from their toddler minds and their petty claim of having an upper hand in their quest to belittle others. Their attempt at that is simply their life’s work at breeding their own ego. It doesn’t go anywhere. It stays with them, in the background subconsciously and will bite them everytime they themselves are most vulnerable. It’s karma
